UGro Coco True Buffered (link to the shop tag/filter) coconut substrates are chemically buffered with calcium nitrate, after being washed in fresh water, to neutralize potassium and sodium salts inherently presents in coir fibres. They are then washed again after this chemical process to clean the resulting salts.  It is tested to comply with our specified parameters and stamped with our True-Buffered quality control stamp of approval and packed.
